FORMATION OF OUR DIAMONDS

A synthetic diamond (or laboratory diamond) is a diamond formed in the laboratory. The synthetic diamond is simply a diamond.

It has the same chemical, physical and optical composition, structure and properties as a mined diamond.

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the lab reproduces the same temperature and pressure conditions as those present 150-250km underground, in order to obtain the same diamond.

The Federal Trade Commission in July 2018 removed the term "natural" from the official definition of a diamond, to include both synthetic and mined diamonds.

There are never two identical diamonds. Synthetic diamonds and mined diamonds are certified according to the same universal 4C method, by globally recognized certification bodies such as IGI (International Gemological Institute) or GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

According to Stephen Morisseau, spokesman for the GIA, “Synthetic diamonds are real diamonds. These are not counterfeits. They are not cubic zirconias. They have the same physical and chemical properties as a mined diamond. »

OUR CERTIFIED DIAMONDS

We only work with lab-created diamonds of the highest quality in terms of color, clarity and cut.

The colors of our diamonds are classified D, E or F (colourless), their clarity IF, VVS or VS, and their cut Ideal or Excellent.

All our diamonds are certified climate neutral.

For each diamond of one carat or more, we issue an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate.

Our designs maximise the splendor and light of the diamond so each stone could find its life partner in you.

A TRANSPARENT DIAMOND  ECOLOGICAL AND ETHICAL

If the synthetic diamond has the same properties and composition as a mined diamond, then what would distinguish them?
Here are the main factors of difference: origin, human impact, environmental impact, traceability and price.

The origin
Mine diamond forms underground, requiring drilling operations to extract it. Synthetic diamonds are formed in the lab.

The human impact
Beyond what we call blood or conflict diamonds, the mining industry has recently come under fire for its working conditions and health impacts.

Environmental impact
The mining industry uses extremely polluting extraction practices, and this is one of the main causes of deforestation and destruction of ecosystems.
A synthetic diamond requires seven times less water and produces twenty times less CO2 than a mined diamond for the same quality.

Traceability
On average, a mined diamond passes through ten to fifteen intermediaries from its extraction to your hands, thus inflating its price and making its traceability very difficult.
Synthetic diamonds come directly from the lab, thus guaranteeing flawless traceability, cutting intermediaries.

The price
By removing all intermediaries from the supply chain, the final price of a synthetic diamond is approximately 20% lower than a mined diamond of the same quality.
